Well, the publication isn’t exactly about my soap opera known as “life”, but it is about music!  Behold, Local Sounds Magazine is now publishing content!  Hooray!

In related news, Local Sounds TV is currently attempting to get the post production crap underway for the MAMAs coverage and we were recently approached to cover a CD/DVD release party on June 12th.  Means that the video coverage is something that I think people are gonna latch onto sooner than later.  Friggin’ A, Bitch!

Last bit of Local Sounds updates (since that’s what the recent weeks of my bitchin’ life have consisted of), we are currently in discussions about a sweet deal that would have Local Sounds acquiring (or merging with) a local website that’s proved to be very popular amongst the music scene with some nationwide penetration (mmmmm).  Stayed tuned for that bit of fun later this year if all talks go well!

Anywho, there’s been a lot of going on with the band too.  Just finished up a couple of concerts, one being Felicia’s Trade CD release party at the Frequency on May 22nd (read about it on Local Sounds Magazine!) and May 24th at Brat Fest.  Those were the shit.

As usual, the Madison Area Music Awards never die.  I’m actually working on the updated site as we speak and we are opening registration soon instead of October.  Talk about a year round ordeal!

Next, just planning on doing some hard core remodeling around the house.  We’re pricing and planning right now to tear out my condo’s back door so we can replace it.  It’s not sealed right and it appears it was kicked in at one point.  Very attractive to the next buyer.

As a final note, that has to be the worst, most God-awful, photo of me ever!  However, the point of the pic is the shirt, not my ugly mug.

Yay!  There is a great level of stress that has been reduced to something a tad more manageable now that the Madison Area Music Awards are over.  You can see a list of the winners at http://www.themamas.org (if you care that much!).

For Local Sounds, we had a great response!  This year we debuted Local Sounds Magazine, Local Sounds TV, and MadisonUrban.com.  We also pushed out a new version of the Local Sounds site as well.  It has been a crazy few months, but we / I made it!

Local Sounds TV was by far the hit of the night.  Once we started getting some interviews lined up, it seemed everyone wanted to be on TV!  I was planning on maybe 5-8 interviews tops during the red carpet between 6:00 and 7:00.  We ended up doing tons more for a grand total of about 3 hours!  It was crazy!  And after we were done doing interviews, artists and kids alike were regularly using our Local Sounds backdrop as a place to take photos (see photo).  Awesome!  Not to mention free press for us…. suckas..

Whaddup?! Last weekend was our first show as a band(s). We played a private beach party at a public restaurant (weird). Besides the icky smell of algae, the chanting biker crowd, and the brief period of rain where we had to protect what we had already setup (sound and drums), I think it went pretty well! We appeared first as our rock group without a name, then appearing as the backup band for Felicia Alima (go buy at the Local Sounds Music Store now!). Of course, we know where our rough areas are, but we hope to have those cleared up soon. Our next show is at The Frequency in Madison on Tuesday night. We’re playing for a somewhat diverse crowd and opening for a diverse main act, so come prepared to have fun (in more ways than one!) bwahahaha!

I’m sure most of you (if you’re still reading my blog to begin with) are thinking that exact phrase right now. Things have been pretty crazy busy for me lately, so unfortunately Jabloggy took a temporary back seat. I will try and be better about it from this point on, I promise *cough* ….SERIOUSLY *cough*

Besides, there isn’t really a whole lot that’s new to write about right now. True, life is good for reasons beyond what I’m about to write on here for now, but I will share a few items with you.

First off, if you’re gonna be in the Wisconsin Rapids / Nekoosa (yes I said Nekoosa, Google that lil’ town) area on August 9th, we hope to be pulling off our first big gig at a private party (mmmm, maybe it’s too private for you to just be popping in like that!). As of now, it sounds like we’ll be combining both of my current music projects / bands into one “Mini-Summerfest”. First up, the rock band. Second up, the R&B performance. Crazy choice of genres, I know. Let me explain a little…

The rock band has been working on some stuff and just getting off the ground for a couple months now. This show should mark our first live show if we don’t suck. A little while after we started the rock band, a friend of mine, Felicia, who happens to be a local R&B / Hip-Hop artist (www.feliciaalima.com, music available on the Local Sounds Music Store, yeah!), got to talking with me about the fact that she was looking for guys to put together a new band for her live performances. Luck would have it all 3 of us (so far) in the rock band said yes to giving her stuff a try too. Now we’re looking to create one big show out of both of our bands. Holy Performance-Palooza Batman…

So yeah, that’s enough excitingly boring news for ya today. I hope to be back much sooner than 3 weeks next time. Maybe I’ll even submit some goodies in the next couple of days! (don’t hold your breathe though; I don’t want to be the reason you slip into a coma)

Well, at least it ran a little long between posts here on Jabloggy. MY BAD! I’m at fault. Me and my Friday night party at the Inferno. Me and my Saturday visit with the parental units. Me and my Sunday sunburn at Brat Fest for 7 hours plus a great show by Felicia Alima (both CDs available on the Local Sounds Music Store … SHAMELESS PLUG!). Me and my Monday of enjoying the outdoors and recovering from the weekend. I think you get my point.

So yeah, this was a Memorial Day Weekend to remember. Lots of fun, lots of new things, lots of familiar things. Definitely a great time and it will be nice to try and top it sometime this summer… or probably not.

On a final note, do you realize we are less than 2 weeks away from the next Apple Keynote presentation? That means new toys, upgrades to toys, and so on and so forth. Mark your calendars for June 9th. I’m sure it will rock in one way or another.
