I Need To Spend More Time on the Purple Section…

See!! See here!! THIS IS WHY I WAS AWAY FROM JABLOGGY FOR A WEEK!!! AARRGH!! $#%$$@#$$

Ok, that was my anger management moment. Anywho, I felt the need to express myself and share with you a little bit what my life is like. Behold a co-worker came across this the other day and I felt that my prayers had been answered…. you know, the ones where you wish someone would just do the work for you? PRAISE!

This diagram is a pretty much true depiction of a designer’s life. Note the yellow portion. This is the only part that I tend to do differently. I usually ignore IE6 completely, and I don’t even test IE7 at home (but for some God-awful reason IE7 managed to look just like Firefox and Safari when I created this new design; am I good? Or is someone punishing me?!)

I Love You Man (just say thank you)

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Time for a Jastatty update! Just shy of two months ago, I issued a challenge to you, the readers of this pile of monkey dung excuse of a blog (no offense to the monkey dung). Today, I am pleased to announce that already I am seeing some significant improvements!

On December 9th, I asked that 2009 be the year that my readers try and make the switch to a better browser so that we can do our part to help bury Internet Explorer forever. Well, I come to you today to say that Internet Explorer is now ranked third in most used browsers on my blog! Firefox has climbed to the top and Safari has claimed the #2 spot. Let’s keep it up!

If you are new to my blog, check out the original challenge here: http://mattjacoby.com/2008/12/09/sexual-ichocolate/. Now help join in the fight!

Speaking of Ninjas, How About That Obama Dude?

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

ObamaHe’s only on day 2 of his presidency, and he’s already kickin’ ass and takin’ names. Amazing how we’ve never really had a president that could bust a move, start a teleconference with the Middle East leaders, and put into motion the closing of the Guantanamo Bay facility, and have dinner with his family all in one day.

Now to me, that seems pretty cool, but I’m sure there’s plenty of speculation (including John Cocaine) who thinks Obama rushed things. I may not know a whole lot about what’s going on with all the topics and issues that the government has to deal with, but it’s only day 2. I think we need to get a feel for what he can do before he’s judged 30 minutes after taking oath (twice, I know). As of right now, I see a dedicated American doing the best he can to begin fulfilling his campaign promises. At this point in time, that’s impressive to me.

Overall, I say give the man a chance to show his stuff before judging his abilities and intentions. Besides, the poor guy and his new techie staff are doing the best they can with all that inferior early 90’s Microsoft shit. It would be nice if they could “Appleify” (in the words of our 43rd prez) the government so that they can be more productive and efficient in resurrecting our fine assed country.

With all that outdated crap, it’s no wonder the CIA and Secret Service are security-phobics. Get some Macs. Save the country. Take the afternoon off and golf.

You Think I Suck at Journalism?

WTF is up with this so-called Mac user dudette (yes I know it’s a dude, your point?)

I feel the “expert” was “paid under the table” by the “fearless” “leaders” at Microtard.  What a great world of honesty we live in.  Excuse me, I think I just threw up in my mouth…

I’m Glad We Decided Against Using Microsoft Paint…

Monday, November 24th, 2008

So I painted my living room this past weekend. I’m very happy with how it turned out.  It’s much warmer and I feel like I could successfully fake having a sense of interior design / style.  Anyway, check out the few new photos I posted on the Jabloggy Flickr photostream (link in my blogroll to the right).

Happy Election Day!  Get out there and vote for the right person!  If you vote for the wrong person, the FBI will be all over your sorry little butt!  (But of course, no pressure!)

Apparently They’re More Retarded Than I Thought…

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I’m not one to report on celebrity bull crap and horse nuts, but I felt the need to release a little steam.  You think the folks over at M(oron)TV would have learned from last year’s VMAs, but noooooooo.  Seems they feel that Britney Spears needed to contribute to the opening act AGAIN at this year’s VMAs.  At what point during Britney’s horrific, non-enthusiastic performance from last year did they feel the urge to book her again?  Ugh.  This is why I gave up MTV and the music industry altogether a long time ago.  May the old music industry die soon and the new way of doing business (online) prevail…

Tilt-A-Whirl……. *gag*

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

This evening my girlfriend and I took her daughter to the county fair here in Madison. True, it’s not a REAL county fair, more like an oversized urban-setting carnival, but hey, we take what we can get right?

Anyway, the moment we got there, we got our first load of ride coupons and jumped on the bumper cars. Wow, has it been a few years since I’ve done that! Good times.

Next, we headed on down to the kiddie rides area, where she got to ride the kiddie roller coaster, several vehicles-go-in-a-small-circle-for-two-minutes rides, the giant slide, and the big spinning bears (don’t ask).

Then we headed over to the Tilt-a-Whirl. Big mistake for someone to volunteer to take her on it when i myself haven’t been on one since high school. I think my head is still slightly spinning. Apparently my motion sickness wasn’t in remission like I thought it was. *time to lie down again for a minute*

While I was recovering from the Hurricane Katrina simulation, I sat while the girls went on the giant ferris wheel and merry-go-round.

Our final round was a few games where the little one ended up winning a stuffed rose, a Hannah Montana backpack (we couldn’t leave the fair without it, otherwise there’d be hell to pay from a 4 year old), and 2 fish. Yes I can’t believe we won a couple of fish. I never thought I’d be one of those people. And yet, here I am. Fortunately, the girls took them both home. I fear Lexi the Infamous Feline might have a tasty snack one night, so I decided against bringing the little fishies home.

Now I’m home, recovering, thinking about going to bed to sleep off the Tilt-a-Puke. Night!

Happy Days…. Gee Whiz!

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Yesterday I went to the Madison Mallards baseball game with my girlfriend and a group from her place of employment. It was themed “50’s and 60’s Night” at the Duck Pond, but we really didn’t know that until we got there. :)

Anyway, amongst the festivities going on at the park, I got an autograph (for my dad) and met Anson Williams. For those of you born way too late (including myself, but I do know who he is), Anson Williams played Potsie on the hit TV show “Happy Days” back in the late 70’s, early 80’s.

I have no doubt that everyone who reads this will be jealous of my instant good fortune. *cough*
